Million Veteran Program Frequently Asked Questions
What is the Million Veteran Program?

The Million Veteran Program (MVP) is a national, voluntary research program in the Department of Veterans Affairs Office of Research & Development.

The Millennium Cohort Study and the MVP are collaborating in a partnership between the Department of Defense (DoD) and Department of Veteran Affairs (VA) to understand how health and lifestyle factors affect military Service members and Veterans.

Why did I receive information about the Million Veteran Program?

You received a letter from our study team letting you know about this new research opportunity available to you because you are a Veteran that is eligible to participate in the study.

Have you shared my information with the VA?

As part of the above mentioned DoD-VA collaboration, Veterans enrolled in the Millennium Cohort Study will be contacted to encourage them to enroll in MVP. A Data Use Agreement between the Department of Defense and the VA allows MVP to receive limited participant contact information for recruitment purposes.

If you do not opt-out of receiving more information, the Millennium Cohort Study will provide your mailing address to the Million Veteran Program, so that they can send program material to you.

How do I opt-out of receiving further information about the Million Veteran Program (MVP)?

You can request to be removed from the MVP mailing list by contacting us with your name and Subject ID by email at usn.point-loma.navhlthrschcensan.mbx.millennium-cohort@health.mil or by phone at (888) 942-5222.
